Permaculture – Certificate III (CHC30708)

Byron College is a registered training organisation offering this certificate with the support of Djanbung Gardens Permaculture College, Byron Herb Nursery and Mullumbimby Community Gardens.

The Certificate III provides trade equivalent skills training in permaculture, preparing you to operate in a skilled and independent manner developing and operating permaculture systems.

Permaculture principles can be applied to any environment, at any scale from dense urban settlements to individual homes, from farms to entire regions. Permaculture aims to create stable, productive systems that provide for human needs, harmoniously integrating land with inhabitants.

The ecological processes of plants, animals, their nutrient cycles, climatic factors and weather cycles are all part of permaculture. In a Permaculture system, work is minimised, “waste” become resources, productivity and yields increase, and environments are restored.
Byron College offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in the permaculture lifestyle, providing a balance of theory and active experience on permaculture farms both urban and rural. For further details download a course information sheet (requires Acrobat Reader).
