Bamboo Advanced
Assessments are made against units of competency from the Certificate I in Skills for Vocational Pathways FSK10213.
  • Calculate with whole numbers and familiar fractions, decimals and percentages for work (FSKNUM14)
  • Use basic strategies for work-related learning (FSKLRG04)
  • Write routine workplace texts (FSKWTG09)

Have you completed our Bamboo Basics course, or worked with bamboo before? Do you want to develop your bamboo skills further?

Advanced Bamboo builds on the skills learnt in Bamboo Basics. In this short course you will make furniture, learn structural joints and the basics of designing to build with bamboo.

Held at the Mullumbimby Community Garden with Julianne Hartmann. Julianne is a pioneer of bamboo building and craft in Australia and helped set up new industries in East Timor and other countries.

Entry Requirements

  • Successful completion of Bamboo Basics course; or
  • Must know how to split bamboo, basic lashes and simple joints

Course Duration & Hours

  • 5 weeks duration
  • Two days (Wednesday and Thursday) of classroom per week 9:00 – 3:30pm
  • Delivery location: Mullumbimby Community Gardens

Course Fees

Fees are fully subsidised for eligible students, a resource fee applies to all enrolments.

  • Subsidised Fee: $0 (plus resource fee of $100)
  • Full Fee: $300 (plus resource fee of $100)

This training is subsidised by the NSW Government.

USI

From the 1st of January 2015, any student enrolling in an Accredited Training course will be required to obtain a USI. The USI helps to keep your training records and results together in an online account which is controlled by you. You can logon to the USI website and follow the simple instructions online to create your USI. This then needs to be provided to the College at the time of enrolment.

Important Information

Once your enrolment is completed you will receive a confirmation email. This email will be your receipt and inform you of the dates, time and venue of your course, it will also let you know of anything you need to take to class with you. Please make sure that you give us a valid email address and mobile number as any course changes will be communicated via sms or email.
