About

The BSB30315 Certificate in Micro Business Operations is the national qualification for people looking to gain initial skills and knowledge in establishing and operating a micro business or working as an independent contractor. This may include home based businesses or Tradespeople. Completing this course will give you the skills and knowledge to apply a range of competencies in varied contexts, using relevant theoretical knowledge with some discretion and judgement.

Completing this course will give you the skills and knowledge to create the following:

  • Develop a micro business proposal

This course delivers the fundamentals of micro business planning and operation, equipping students with the ability to increase their businesses profitability and longevity. The Certificate III in Micro Business Operations covers 10 units of competency that includes topics such as finance, compliance, customer service, networking and development of a business proposal. You will also demonstrate the ability to provide technical advice and support to a small team. See below for the full list of units.

The program provides students with constructive feedback in a supportive environment on the establishment of and management of a micro business. Modules are worked through progressively in the classroom and guide structured home study and work based projects. Successful completion of the assessment tasks will demonstrate that you have the ability to develop your own business plan and apply the theory you have learnt to practical workplace situations

Course Length, Dates & Hours

  • 1 day a week 9.00 am – 4.00pm for 18 weeks
  • You will be required to complete projects outside of classroom time. A significant amount of homework is required.
  • Engagement in in-class and home based learning activities are all required for successful completion

Subsidised Training under Smart and Skilled

This course is being offered as a subsidised* course to eligible students under the Smart and Skilled program. Smart and Skilled is a reform of the NSW Vocational Education and Training (VET) system. It’s helping people in NSW get the skills they need to find a job and advance their careers. Many of our full qualifications have full or part fee subsidies available for eligible students.

To apply for a Smart and Skilled Fee-Free Scholarship place you must:

  • Be an Australian citizen or hold a permanent residency or humanitarian visa status
  • Live or work in New South Wales
  • Be aged between 15-30 years of age
  • Provide evidence of your concession-eligibility

To apply for a Smart and Skilled Concession (S&S Concession) place you must:

  • Be an Australian citizen or hold a permanent residency or humanitarian visa status
  • Live or work in New South Wales

USI

From the 1st of January 2015, any student enrolling in an Accredited Training course will be required to obtain a USI. The USI helps to keep your training records and results together in an online account which is controlled by you. You can logon to the USI website and follow the simple instructions online to create your USI. This then needs to be provided to the College at the time of enrolment.

Important Information

Once your enrolment is completed you will receive a confirmation email. This email will be your receipt and inform you of the dates, time and venue of your course, it will also let you know of anything you need to take to class with you.
