The Disability Support Skill Set is a short course that provides an introduction to the skills and knowledge required to become a Support Worker within the Community, working with people living with disability. Successful completion of the units can be used to lead you into the full national qualification CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability). With the introduction of the NDIS, this industry is amongst one of the fastest growing sectors, providing employment flexibility and career options nationwide. A career in Individual Support (Disability) can be extremely rewarding and fulfilling for all involved. People suited to this profession often demonstrate genuine compassion and empathy towards others.

Entry Requirements

Course Fees * Full fee: $259 (+ Resource Fee $80) * Concession: $95 (+ Resource Fee $80)

Course Length, Dates & Hours

  • One day of classroom (Mondays) 9.00 am – 4.00pm per week
  • One day (equivalent) of home study per week
  • Students will be required to complete 40 hours of work placement
  • Delivery location: Mullumbimby Campus

Student Policies and Procedures

USI

From the 1st of January 2015, any student enrolling in an Accredited Training course will be required to obtain a USI. The USI helps to keep your training records and results together in an online account which is controlled by you. You can logon to the USI website and follow the simple instructions online to create your USI. This then needs to be provided to the College at the time of enrolment.

Important Information

Once your enrolment is completed you will receive a confirmation email. This email will be your receipt and inform you of the dates, time and venue of your course, it will also let you know of anything you need to take to class with you. Please make sure that you give us a valid email address and mobile number as any course changes will be communicated via sms or email.
