HLTAID004 – Provide An Emergency First Aid Response In An Education And Care Setting

This course is suitable for anyone working in long day care, family day care, preschool and outside of school hours (OOSH) care services. It will teach you the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.

Developed for educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies.

Assessment Requirements:

This course includes a pre-study online component, followed by a one day in-class practical course. Pre-study consists of reading a workbook and answering questions online, this takes approx. 2 hrs. If you do not have access to a computer you will be required to collect a hard copy from our office at least 2 days before the class starts. Further information will be provided upon enrolment.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is included in this course and you will be required to perform a practical demonstration of CPR on an adult manikin on the floor.

Award issued:

This program is delivered by Allens Training Pty Ltd (RTO 90909) who will issue successful participants with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for:

USI

From the 1st of January 2015, any student enrolling in an Accredited Training course will be required to obtain a USI. The USI helps to keep your training records and results together in an online account which is controlled by you. You can logon to the USI website and follow the simple instructions online to create your USI. This then needs to be provided to the College at the time of enrolment.
