Love flowers and want to explore your creativity? Learn to create stunning floral designs for an exciting new career or a rewarding hobby in this 5 week introductory course.

You will gain hands on experience in the art of floristry with practical lessons which explore flower arranging, hand tied bouquets, wiring fresh blooms, gift wrapping and bow construction. In the weekly workshops, tutor Leena will expertly demonstrate a new design with beautiful fresh blooms and guide you in creating your own arrangements which are yours to take home at the end of each day.

  • Week 1: Individual gift wrapped flower
  • Week 2: Button Hole and Corsage
  • Week 3: Box arrangement
  • Week 4: Hand tied bouquet
  • Week 5: Floral Wreath

What you will learn:

  • How to prepare and care for fresh flowers and plant materials
  • Correct storage and conditioning requirements of the materials
  • Common and botanical names of flowers and plant materials used in class
  • Suitable designs for special occassions
  • How to correctly use floristry tools & equipment
  • How to complete order forms and appropriate card messages
  • Skills in spiralling stems and fine wiring

Entry Requirements

  • No previous experience or knowledge is required.

Course Duration & Hours

  • 5 weeks duration
  • One day a week (Wednesdays) 10:00am – 2:00pm
  • Delivery location: The Laneway studio at our Mullumbimby Campus

Course Fees

  • Subsidised Fee: $0 (plus resource fee of $250) Course Fees are fully subsidised by the NSW Government for eligible students, most people are eligible for a subsidised place, call our office for details 02 6684 3374
  • Full Fee: $440 (plus resource fee of $250)

USI

From the 1st of January 2015, any student enrolling in an Accredited Training course will be required to obtain a USI. The USI helps to keep your training records and results together in an online account which is controlled by you. You can logon to the USI website and follow the simple instructions online to create your USI. This then needs to be provided to the College at the time of enrolment.

Important Information

Once your enrolment is completed you will receive a confirmation email. This email will be your receipt and inform you of the dates, time and venue of your course, it will also let you know of anything you need to take to class with you. Please make sure that you give us a valid email address and mobile number as any course changes will be communicated via sms or email.
