Pathway to Early Childhood Education and Care is a short course that leads you into the full national qualification Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care for child care educators and will prepare you to work in early childhood with the knowledge and skills to support child development.

This course covers half the units of the full qualification required to quick start your career in child care; and covers interesting aspects of child development, play support, behaviour management and health and safety. Students will complete work experience in an education care facility as part of completing this course. Once you have completed this course you will be able to go on to complete the remaining units in another short course to be fully qualified for work in the child care sector. Successful students can work as an Early Childhood Educator Assistant, Family Day Care Educator or Nanny.

Entry Requirements

  • No previous experience or knowledge is required
  • Students must be at least 17 years of age to enrol

Course Fees

  • Course fee: $209 (plus Resource Fee $80)
  • Concession fee: $95 (plus Resource Fee $80)

(This course is subsidised by the NSW Governement)

Course Length, Dates & Hours

  • Two days of classroom learning 9:00am – 3.30pm per week
  • Additional: One day of home study
  • Held at the Mullumbimby Campus

USI

From the 1st of January 2015, any student enrolling in an Accredited Training course will be required to obtain a USI. The USI helps to keep your training records and results together in an online account which is controlled by you. You can logon to the USI website and follow the simple instructions online to create your USI. This then needs to be provided to the College at the time of enrolment.

Important Information

Once your enrolment is completed you will receive a confirmation email. This email will be your receipt and inform you of the dates, time and venue of your course, it will also let you know of anything you need to take to class with you.
