Printing On Fabric Using Block Prints And Stamps

In this hands-on two day course, you will learn a variety of methods to produce Block prints onto fabrics, using traditional and innovative, modern techniques.
Learn how to turn your own drawings and ideas into printable motifs, suitable for stamp-printing. In addition, you will be taught how to carve a lino block, and a rubber stamp, to print onto fabrics, tshirts, table-cloths, napkins, tote bags etc. This is the perfect medium to up-cycle your wardrobe, and breathe new life into old clothes you love, but need a lift!

This course is designed for the novice, so no prior experience is necessary.

All printing materials are water based and non-toxic. Morning and afternoon tea and treats will be provided.
The following materials will be provided for the duration of the workshop: inks, carving tools, rubber block, 1 tote bag, sample cloth for practice prints.

Materials fee of $30 to be paid to the tutor on the 1st day.

What to bring

  • A drawing pad, pencils, pens etc. for designing
  • Designs, drawings & ideas you may already have
  • Apron to protect your clothes
  • Closed in shoes
  • Rubber gloves
  • Lunch
  • At least 2 items to print: light coloured t-shirt, pillow case, or pre-washed cotton/natural fabric
  • $30 to pay tutor for additional materials

Important information

Once your enrolment is completed you will receive a confirmation email.
