The early 20th century technique of including every day material into the field of painting has gone onto influence every field of art practice since.

During this 7 week course we will look at the work of various artists known for their use of collage and gain inspiration to construct new images for ourselves. No experience is necessary, collage is easy and relies only on a willingness to play with possibilities.
Students will be supported to develop the ideas that come from this practice and build a small body of work. A range of printed material will be available but please bring anything you would particularly like to work with.

What you will learn:

  • Gain knowledge of artists known for collage
  • Develop collage ideas
  • Construct collage images
  • Build a small body of collage work

Entry Requirements

  • No previous experience or knowledge is required.

Course Duration & Hours

  • 7 weeks duration
  • One day of classroom (Mondays or Tuesdays) 9:30am – 3:30pm
  • Delivery locations: Mullumbimby Campus

Course Fees

Course Fees are fully subsidised for eligible students, a resource fee applies to all enrolments.

  • Subsidised fee: $0 (plus resource fee of $125)
  • Full Fee: $230 (plus resource fee of $125)

Additional Costs

  • You will need to purchase some art materials for the course. Art materials will cost you approx. $50, depending on the art materials you choose (refer to the Information Pack)

USI

From the 1st of January 2015, any student enrolling in an Accredited Training course will be required to obtain a USI. The USI helps to keep your training records and results together in an online account which is controlled by you. You can logon to the USI website and follow the simple instructions online to create your USI. This then needs to be provided to the College at the time of enrolment.

Important Information

Once your enrolment is completed you will receive a confirmation email. This email will be your receipt and inform you of the dates, time and venue of your course, it will also let you know of anything you need to take to class with you. Please make sure that you give us a valid email address and mobile number as any course changes will be communicated via sms or email.
